Karen Watson Johnson started out her career as a primary school teacher and earned Degrees in Early Childhood Education and Sociology. Karen graduated from Regis College in Weston, MA and worked for many years in real estate sales and marketing. Later she decided to follow her heart's passion to become an artist and teacher. Yearning for creative expression she began to study Studio Painting and Oil Painting at The Museum of Fine Arts School, Boston. During this time she met the acclaimed painter and gallery owner, William St. George, in the Back Bay, Boston, and she felt a passionate connection to his style of painting and the vibrant colors that he used. This connection lead to her taking classes with him, which proved to be an excellent match and a big inspiration for Karen to keep following her passion. Together with St. George's direction and guidance (www.stgeorgegallery.com ) during studio classes and plein air excursions, she produced some of her best work. Karen has earned her Massachusetts teaching certifications in Early Childhood, Elementary and Middle School Education.
